Portugal Puppeteers Posted by Carlos Guarda de Cadeia on Aug 24, 2012
Although I'm Dutch and speak English, German & Dutch, I'm looking for Portugese Puppeteers.
A few years ago I moved to Portugal and would like to get in touch with puppeteers, theaters etc. overhere in this lovely country.
Maybe just to talk about the same interests, maybe even to work together...and in the end even organize some kind of festival in the middle of Portugal.

You're in luck... try this organisation:
http://www.unimaportugal.com/
The very first thing on the site is a publication specifically for puppeteers in Portugal. More than likely they will have info in there or elsewhere on the site about events and festivals.

Thanks for the tip! Sadly as with most Portugese websites it's not realy up to date, but there are some good links on it. Still hope to get in contact with induvidual puppeteers......

I think that's true for most of UNIMA - it's run by volunteers, so it can be somewhat disorganised at times. Still, UNIMA is THE international organisation for puppeteers, so if anyone will know about puppetry in your area, it will be them.
