These three are why I never quite got to the Project Puppet contest. Meet Zachary Rabbit, Alisa the Fox and Basilio the Alley Cat. They will all have parts in the Buratino show. Zachary is just a quick walk-on, with no lines. Alisa and Basilio are villains, thieves who are out to steal Buratino's five gold pieces. They have yet to be costumed. Alisa pretends to be lame and uses a crutch. Basilio wears dark glasses, as though he is blind. They will both wear scruffy beggar's clothing. Also, if I can find the right material, I want to add some whiskers to Basilio. I'm thinking of nylon bristles from a broom, if I can find a white broom out there. (Besides, I can use a new broom around the place.)

Now I have to finish the costume for the little blue-haired girl marionette, and then make her full-sized counterpart, and then the evil Karabas Barabas. This week I will get the script into shape and send it off for translation.

The three are sitting in front of the backdrop for the show which I will unveil in full, shortly. It has a few details to complete (maybe while the rest of West Virginia is off hunting deer or early morning bargains the day after Thanksgiving).

Fishing line would work good for whiskers as Brenda mentioned but your idea to use broom bristles are a good one also. The broom bristles may actually show up a bit better then the fishing line.

They look fabulous!!  Your cast is coming together nicely!!   

You've got some great looking critters there, Chris.  I love their names.  Wiould love to see some pictures of this in front of the backdrop when you get that done.
