Joe the Fire Ant Posted by dpatters28 on Jul 03, 2009
Yep, I made yet ANOTHER puppet!! I actually find making them relaxing. My friend Crystal was bored at work and we were chatting online, so I decided to record Joe singing one of her favorite songs to cheer her up and keep her entertained. Just a warning, I am NOT a very good singer - but I had fun and was able to test my puppetry skills a little bit more. I'm gonna post a link to the video - hope you all enjoy!

LOL....cute! Hey you sing pretty good!!!....I mean FIRE ANT. :D He's really cute. I like his dance moves. It was entertaining for my four year old son. The background of your room cracks me up as if it were really Fire Ant living there and chatting online....classic. It makes him more REAL....cuteness. My only recommendation would be to watch out from showing your arm so Fire Ant stays believable. The mouth movements are pretty good that you used a lot of thumb movement as opposed to opening the hand because a lot of beginners will just use open hand but if you study the way we talk, we don't throw our heads back...we just open our jaw. For a puppet, that would be concentrating on only moving the thumb and exaggerating partially at times using the open hand for like screams or high notes when singing. You did this and it looked good. WELL DONE!

Well thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The arm thing was sort of hard, since I was sitting next to the ant, not sitting "beneath" him, but I will work on that. I actually did the video a few times before realizing I had to tilt the head down so that you could see the inside of Joe's mouth. And I'm glad you like my bedroom. Hee Hee
