Okay, I did have to search for obstetrician, but I got it now. That it evil.... I like it.

This is another character - Billy the Orphan Boy (so far). He's 10 years old.
This is my most successful build so far. I've graduated from cobbling together pieces with fabric and hot glue and started to actually use needle and thread. Far more time consuming but far more attractive in the final product.
I found some green felt self-adhesive furniture pads for his eyes, which is a nice break from simple black pupils (even though the final film will be in black and white), and the freckles are fabric paint dabbed on using the blunt end of a paint brush.

Will post more when he's finally complete.

I also think the braces are a nice touch, though I don't know how a 10 year old orphan boy can afford them. Maybe he sold his Knute Rockne autographed football card or something.

I love those braces!

Really nice. Yes I noticed the braces right off. Nice touch!
You mentioned the final film will be in black and white. I know that in it's infancy film used colors in set and costume that where not really what we thought they would be in life because they filmed better. Have you taken that into consideration or in the age of digital video is that no longer really a concern. Wish I could remember some of the examples of this. Seems like red was one of the colors that did not film as expected but can't remember for sure.

Yeah, I considered that, actually. An example is George Reeves as Superman - his costume was grey and brown.
I'm pretty confident with the amount of colour correction and saturation, etc that at'll be OK. I'm doing B&W photo tests as I go along.

Or the chocolate sauce used for blood in "psycho".

He works well in black and white!

Thanks. It's hard to tell due to the back shadow, but he's wearing a baseball cap.
