Hey all.  I had to take a break from this project for a few weeks.  I went on a bit of a marathon for a while there and suddenly found myself tapped out.  But after some rejuvenation I'm back at it.  

I'm working on a monster and Istill have Wanda the Waitress, but here is Buddy Palchum, out-of-work lumberjack and all-around Canadian stereotype.

I can see him swing an axe...!

It's good to take a break from time to time so one does not get burned out.

Love that hat... it really sets his character.

One thing I find with all my puppets, I have difficulty with the lips.  Is there a secret to wrapping the fabric over the foam underneath and keeping it smooth?  It worked once for Wanda but it kind of happened by accident and I don't know what I did differently.

Any suggestions from anyone would be great.

Patience and practice.  I know you did not really want to hear that but it really is the secret. Something you can do is reverse how you lay in your mouth. Right now it looks like you wrap the lip over the red in your mouth if you first wrapped the lip then layed your red on top of that it could cover up the edge of your lip. Look close at say your last puppet you posted. You can see at the edge of the lip it is a bit cleaner. Does that make sense to you?

Yeah I'm with Shawn. Practice is the key. It's still the part of the process that makes me the most nervous. There are many points of "no return" when crafting a puppet and that ranks as one of the toughest. By "no return" I just mean that a mistake there could cost you the whole project or at the very least a MAJOR setback requiring a lot of undoing/redoing.

Can you at least reuse foam? Fimo is really bad that way!
