Hello again!  I have my mummy finished and Frankenstein almost finished.  But in the meantime, I have been working on a bigger one.  In May, I am hoping to have a booth at a convention for Clowns and Magicians.  so I am going to start building a few puppets of each.  

Initially, this puppet head was suppose to be a robot.  It didn't want to be a robot.  Apparently it wanted to be a hobo.  So here he is:

I also plan at least 2-3 regular clowns and 2-3 magicians.  Hoping that some of the clowns will all have gimmicks.  One will blow a horn, one will squirt water out of a flower.  If I can figure out a trick or two for the magicians, that'll be cool!  But first I have to learn some easy magic tricks! lol

There's a ball routine that can work quite well with a puppet, it's an illusion with the infinite repetition of balls drawn out of the mouth. A bit of snooping around for the right tutorial on youtube and you'll find a way to make a great looking puppet even better as a performance.

All I can say is Oh My Goodnes!

Here we go.  Instead of trying one at a time, I tried a process and made 3 (well 4, but the bunny wasn't part of the process).  Hope you enjoy!

First came the bunny.  Well, I was sitting around waiting on a person who was wanting a ride to get here and she was really late.  To keep from pacing, I grabbed these odd shaped pieces of scraps left from the body-types I make and started gluing.  I ended with a small, round head. After tossing out flower and those little things on the Muppet show that got beat on the head to make music (think the guy's name was Marvin and his Amazing...?), the puppet finally said he was a bunny.  So here he is:

Still thinking of gimmicks to add to the magicians.  Little magic tricks they can actually perform.  And the next clown hopefully will actually blow up a balloon!

Man ArthurS, you are really full on rolling them out. You have found something that your energies can really get focussed on. Keep it up!

I don't know Arthur... I am a bit worried about this obsession you have with magicians and clowns.    Kidding of course. Great work. I think the shirt on the clown is kind of fun. What do you not like about it?

lol!  Thanks!  I am going to be merchanting at a clown/magician convention in May.  So I need some themed puppets.  Heck, for me, I'd have a room full of knights and dragons!

The shirt looks too mundane to me, for a clown.  Plus the short sleeves and gloves look off.

On one of the other magicians, I am going to cut a hole in his lapel pocket and on through the shirt and body and connect them.  Then I have 10 small, multi-colored hankies I'm going to sew together and end with a pair of kids boxers.  so someone can pull the hankie, and keep pulling, and... well, you know the gag.

Fantastic!  It wouldn't be hard to rig up a classic squirting flower to a clown.
